Most worthwhile things have already been mentioned but in my recent Classic playthrough, after not playing since WoTC released, I found the Ultrasonic Lure to be surprisingly absurd. What do you find most and least useful? I am no expert, I just played again after many years and wondered what I was missing out on. If I am getting hit, I am not going to spend time healing when I can be shooting. Medkits? Uhhh, I'll take Hellweave or Nanoweave, thank you. The wraith suit and some others are fun but not really something you need. The warden armor and the EVO suit for grenadiers was plenty. Skullmining? I used it a few times, I guess it gives more intel?Īnd most of the specialized armors I never used. Experimental ammo? I kept researching it but never got talon or other types of rounds. robots ain't got a chance with one decent specialist on the team. Stuff I found unnecessary? Bluescreen rounds. It makes the mutons run off in panic, sometimes attacking their pals. If you take a couple of those and all psi operatives and rangers on the final battle, it is pretty easy. I also rather enjoy slapping Hellweave on Rangers and Psi operatives, since they tend to get up close and personal with the enemies (the psi operatives inspire the rangers for max slaughter).Īlso useful. I pondered which things were worth building in Engineering and Proving Grounds, but in my playthrough what I found useful were all the standard weapon upgrades (magnetic, plasma, etc) and mimic beacon. It took me awhile to get back into the groove, but I won on the default level only losing 2 soldiers (ship defense and the final battle). I replayed XCOM 2 again after many years, and it is a great game! Love it.
